Job summary

Cortland in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our communities safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will diagnose, repair, and service electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and building systems, while supporting preventative maintenance programs and reporting issues to supervision.

You will manage on-call rotations, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of work orders, maintaining a high standard of resident service and asset preservation.

Qualifications

• Proficient with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair and general building systems.
• EPA certification required to service building equipment.
• 1–3+ years in maintenance, facilities, or multifamily housing.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and handle multiple work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and resolve maintenance issues across building systems.
• Correct unsafe conditions promptly and safely.
• Monitor and report on building systems and security equipment.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and other systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and complete work orders.
• Respond to on-call rotations and emergency maintenance situations.
• Provide friendly, professional service to residents and team members.
• Document work performed and report recurring issues.
