Job summary

Windsor Communities seeks a Service Technician II for Windsor Metro West in Plano, TX. The role involves routine maintenance of a 400-unit property, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.

You will process work orders, prep vacants, and participate in emergency after-hours coverage. Qualified candidates have 2+ years in maintenance, tool proficiency, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment maintenance.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools.
• Strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repairs.
• EPA Type II preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date.
• CPO (Certified Pool Operator) preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
• Complete work orders efficiently and close them within 24 hours.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, essential repairs).
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and after-hours calls in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
• Maintain safety compliance and proper PPE usage.
• Track inventory and communicate needs to the Service Manager.
• Keep accurate maintenance records using devices and PM software.
• Interact professionally with residents, contractors, and vendors.
• Collaborate with property management to resolve issues.
