Merchants Capital is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of multifamily loans, ensuring loan compliance, risk monitoring, and customer service excellence. The role involves client-facing duties, loan extensions and modifications, and collaboration with capital markets on refinancing strategies.

The position emphasizes detailed credit analysis, risk assessments, and supporting the path to permanent financing while not having direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience preferred with an emphasis on asset or portfolio management.
• Requires an organized, detailed-oriented approach to work balance with a personable demeanor effective at delivering high-quality customer experience.
• Problem-solving skills with a self-start mentality that responds well to work pressure and urgent deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to actively listen and respond appropriately.
• Encourages strategic, creative thinking with experience overseeing the process of interpreting data and analysis to support the development of new and innovative applications to managing risk.
• Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s in finance, accounting, real estate or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage borrower relationships on a portfolio of multifamily loans and ensure compliance with loan documents.
• Review and approve quarterly financial analyses and repair/rehab draw requests.
• Ensure interest rate hedge compliance and manage escrow disbursements as applicable.
• Perform covenants testing and credit analysis for extensions and modifications.
• Collaborate with the Loan Origination team and Capital Markets on refinancing strategies and client direction.
