Job summary

Sun Chemical is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine, emergency and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities. The role includes reading blueprints, servicing pumps and HVAC systems, and assisting with safety inspections.

A strong mechanical/electrical background and high school diploma are required. The position emphasizes adherence to OSHA regulations, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches and manuals.
• Experience with pumps, belts, gears, hydraulics and bearings.
• Knowledge of piping, boilers and HVAC systems helpful.
• Electrical: 460V 3-phase and motor controls understanding.
• Strong math aptitude for technical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, emergency and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Work on office and plant machinery and building facilities.
• Assist in plant safety inspections and housekeeping.
• Operate floor scrubber and manage tools and waste per policy.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety rules.
