Job summary

SlingShot Connections - Direct Hire is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Kentucky to perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment. The role requires reading blueprints and strong troubleshooting, with emphasis on safety and CMMS record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in a manufacturing setting, can work overtime, and may have experience with PSM, millwrighting, machining, pipefitting, or welding.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 2–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understands and adheres to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Communicates clearly and documents work accurately.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, and perform hands-on mechanical work.
  • Willing to overtime or weekend work when needed.
  • (Preferred) Experience with PSM, millwrighting, machining, pipefitting, or welding.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace pumps, motors, conveyors, valves, and other mechanical components.
  • Install and commission new equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, and support compliance with PSM requirements.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to coordinate repairs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Support development and execution of maintenance plans and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

About the job:

The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation across the facility.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is preferred
