Job summary

Sun Chemical in Maumee, Ohio is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Reliability Technician to support our manufacturing operations on second shift. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of production equipment, reading blueprints and manuals to minimize downtime while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with CMMS (SAP), and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on a dynamic production line.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience using SAP CMMS or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pipe fitting, and industrial mechanics.
• Experience working with: Pumps (diaphragm and centrifugal), Gearboxes, belts, chains, bearings, couplings, shafts, motors, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong math aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond with urgency to minimize downtime.
• Repair, replace, install, and modify machine components and systems.
• Maintain and calibrate electronic, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate spare parts inventory records.
• Communicate repair status, project updates, and equipment needs with plant personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and OSHA standards.
