Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) in Albany, NY, is seeking Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and Structural Building Systems Engineering Interns. You will engage in analysis, design development, drafting, field investigations, and site visits alongside experienced engineers.

The internship offers exposure to mechanical HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural disciplines with mentors guiding your development. Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software, or similar design tools is preferred.
• Ability to work in an office environment and participate in field visits to gain practical engineering experience.
• Interest in building systems design and structural engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural engineering analysis and design.
• Support the preparation of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM/CADD software.
• Assist with load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Participate in field investigations, site assessments, and construction observations.
• Review drawings under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
• Support project teams in developing design deliverables for review by licensed engineers.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a variety of building design projects.
• Assist with report writing, documentation, and project coordination activities.
