Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Structural Building Systems Engineering Interns for our Suffern, NY office.

Interns will participate in engineering analysis, design development, drafting, field investigations, report preparation, contractor submittal reviews, and site visits. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and experience or coursework in building systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software, or similar design tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or structural engineering analysis and design.
• Support the preparation of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Develop drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM/CADD software.
• Assist with load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Participate in field investigations, site assessments, and construction observations.
• Review drawings under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
• Support project teams in developing design deliverables for review by licensed engineers.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a variety of building design projects.
• Assist with report writing, documentation, and project coordination activities.
