Job summary

Nightwing seeks a Multi-disciplinary Engineer II for the Springfield, VA area to support technology development and mission support programs. You will work with a diverse team to advance concepts through prototyping, testing, deployment, and execution.

The role requires hands-on electro-mechanical experience, CAD proficiency, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to mixed audiences while collaborating across engineering, operations, and customers.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph. Clearance sponsorship provided.
• Two years of relevant experience minimum.
• Experience with electro-mechanical prototyping (motors, actuators, sensors).
• Proficiency in building electronics, breadboards, and integrating components (Arduino/RPi).
• CAD experience for design and documentation (Solidworks/Autodesk Revit).
• Team collaboration with customers and cross-disciplinary staff.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel (<10%).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Develop customer requirements, design test plans, perform engineering analyses and testing.
• Create designs, drawings, schematics, and flowcharts; coordinate with vendors.
• Lead design reviews; prototype, validate, and document progress; collect customer feedback.
• Solve problems across multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software).
• Present technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
