Job summary

Leggett & Platt, Inc. is seeking a Production Floater for our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The role covers multiple departments to support daily operations, covering absences or high workloads. The ideal candidate is flexible, quick to learn new tasks and can work well in diverse environments.

Shift options include Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with 36 hours worked but paid for 40. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Attendance and punctuality are required.
• Ability to learn multiple job functions as needed.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform various quality tests on in-process and finished wire and input results into the computer system.
• Input information for bar coded tags and print tags as needed.
• Weigh drawn wire from wire drawing line and tag with appropriate tag.
• Stack wire in the warehouse.
• Keep weight tag printer filled with labels.
• Inspect fork truck and fill out inspection sheet.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Practice good safety techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
