Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Production Floater for our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The role runs Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with 36 hours of work paid as 40.

You will perform quality tests on wire, weigh and tag materials, stack inventory, and maintain safety and order in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. We prefer candidates with 1+ years of manufacturing experience, good attendance, and the ability to learn multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Attendance and punctuality at work.
• Ability to learn multiple job functions.
• Able to read verbal and written instructions.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality tests on in-process and finished wire and record results.
• Input bar coded tag information and print tags as needed.
• Weigh drawn wire and tag appropriately.
• Stack wire in the warehouse.
• Maintain weight tag printer with labels.
• Inspect forklift and complete inspection sheet.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
