Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Production Floater for our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. This role supports multiple departments, covering absences and busy periods to keep daily operations running smoothly. You will perform quality tests, tag and weigh wires, and maintain a safe, organized work area.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of manufacturing experience and is quick to learn new tasks, able to adapt to diverse environments, and committed to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Attendance and punctuality required.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner.
• Follows all safety procedures and policies.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple job functions with a willingness to tackle tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform various quality tests on in-process and finished wire and input results into computer system.
• Input information for bar coded tags and print tags as needed.
• Weigh drawn wire from wire drawing line and tag with appropriate tag.
• Stack wire in the warehouse.
• Keep weight tag printer filled with labels.
• Inspect fork truck and fill out inspection sheet.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Practice good safety techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
