You will read tickets, adjust color, balance inks, and help with maintenance to ensure high quality and on-time production. Strong color sense and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3+ years of multicolor second press operator experience preferred.
• Read and interpret job tickets, layout sheets, and artwork.
• Strong color management and ability to adjust CPC color standards.
• Ability to use basic math for measurements and calculations.
• Effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and specifications before starting a job.
• Know set-up and maintenance procedures for the entire press.
• Program color standards into CPC to adjust color as needed.
• Achieve color OK to proofs under supervisor direction.
• Interpret color bars and targets to maintain print quality.
• Balance and maintain ink and water systems for quality.
• Keep color stable during run with OK sheets.
• Perform press operations including make-readies, folder operation, and maintenance.
• Review job orders for quantity, stock, colors, and special instructions.
• Pull proofs to check ink coverage and alignment.
• Assist Press Operator with web tension and speed control.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper housekeeping.
