Job summary

Mittera is seeking a Sheetfed Press Operator on 1st shift to set up, operate, and maintain a sheetfed press while ensuring top-quality production. You will monitor quality, perform make-readies, and coordinate with prepress and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of sheetfed press experience, strong attention to detail, and basic computer skills for production reporting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sheetfed press operating experience.
• Bonus: experience with web offset presses.
• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, registration, and print quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Basic computer skills for production reporting and job tracking.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor sheetfed press equipment to produce high-quality materials.
• Review job tickets and verify production specifications before starting each job.
• Perform press make-readies, including plate changes and ink adjustments.
• Monitor print quality and adjust color/registration to meet specs.
• Troubleshoot press issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of press equipment.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet standards.
• Complete production documentation and report production data.
• Monitor inventory levels of inks, coatings, plates and supplies.
• Collaborate with press assistants, prepress, and finishing to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area following safety policies.
• Assist training of less experienced operators or press assistants.
