Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher to plan and deliver engaging instruction for diverse learners. You will create a supportive classroom environment and implement grading, assessment, and district policies to drive student growth and achievement.

The role requires a BA+ endorsement, effective communication with families, and collaboration with staff to support district goals. This position is on-site and aligned with the district’s 182-workday calendar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with appropriate endorsement.
• Experience aligning instruction with state standards and district goals.
• Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback and grades.
• Implement district policies and classroom procedures for student conduct.
• Differentiate instruction and scaffold tasks to support all learners.
• Maintain accurate records and utilize data to inform instruction.
• Communicate with families about student progress and program rationale.
• Collaborate with colleagues and district staff to improve student achievement.
