Tacoma Public Schools is hiring a replacement teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, starting October 2026. The position is 1.0 FTE with a 7.5 hour workday and a salary range based on TEA collective bargaining. Benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education and appropriate endorsement.
• Active Washington State teaching certificate.
• Experience aligning lessons to standards and student needs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and provides students with appropriate learning activities.
• Assesses student growth and provides progress reports.
• Implements district philosophy and policies in the classroom.
• Prepares lesson plans and differentiates instruction.
• Maintains communication with students, parents and colleagues.
• Maintains accurate records and uses data to inform instruction.
• Ensures student safety and classroom discipline.
