Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Register patients gathering demographics and insurance information.
• Assist nursing staff in direct and non-direct patient care.
• Obtain and articulate relevant data for continuity of care.
• Communicate patient information to RN or LPN.
• Document care activities per policy.
• Perform Patient Safety Attendant functions as needed.
• Prepare and transport patients for exams.
• Assist emergency staff in patient care as delegated.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Apply splints and braces as ordered with CMS checks.
• Conduct mandatory equipment checks.
• Assist with ambulance transfers and airway management.
• Support transfer/discharge paperwork and patient registration.
• Demonstrate competencies in Emergency, Urgent Care, and In-Patient areas.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Job Functions

• Gathers all necessary demographic and insurance information in order to register the patient.
• Assists nursing staff in direct and non-direct patient care functions.
• Obtains and articulates pertinent data in an objective manner.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the RN or LPN to assure continuum of care.
• Documents the various aspects of care on appropriate forms according to RMC policies and procedures.
• Performs Patient Safety Attendant functions as needed.
• Prepares and transports patients for examination.
• Assists emergency staff in direct and non-direct patient care functions as delegated.
• Performs EKGs and point of care testing.
• Applies splints and braces on patients as ordered assuring good CMS after application.
• Performs mandatory equipment checks.
• Accompanies ambulance transports and assists with airway management as needed.
• Assists with transfer/discharge paperwork as well as patient registration.
• Demonstrates competencies in the specialty areas of Emergency, Urgent Care, and In-Patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant or EMT course OR completion of a Nurse Internship with Ridgeview Medical Center OR an approved equivalent of education and experience

• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions

License/Certifications

• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification
