Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a General Manager II to lead a complex QSR or Casual Dine restaurant or cluster near Baltimore. You will ensure clean, staffed, open operations, and make high-impact leadership decisions to drive overall restaurant success.

You will manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, and compliance while owning P&L, implementing brand standards, and driving revenue through effective leadership and program execution.

Qualifications

• 3 years of restaurant P&L management experience with 5–7 years in the restaurant industry.
• Graduation from a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for experience.
• Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue-resolution skills.
• Knows HMSHost policies, products, service standards; able to learn quickly after hire.
• Ability to read, speak and understand menus, instructions and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the restaurant and ensure opening/closing checklists are completed.
• Deploy staff to maximize profitability and assume P&L responsibility.
• Prepare schedules and ensure shifts are covered.
• Provide coaching and support to staff to hit business goals.
• Participate in hiring decisions and promote HMSHost as an employer of choice.
• Ensure onboarding, training and proper badging compliance for associates.
• Monitor financial and operational data to reach unit goals.
• Recognize staff performance and motivate the team.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and brand procedures.
