Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an experienced Multi-Unit General Manager/Area Manager/Director of Operations to oversee 3–4 upscale café locations in the Jacksonville market. This hands-on leadership role works directly with ownership to drive growth, elevate guest experiences, and develop location leaders across the portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be highly visible in operations, coach General Managers, and manage performance across locations, including P&Ls, labor, and food cost.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of restaurant leadership experience.
• Current or recent multi-unit operational responsibility.
• Experience developing General Managers and restaurant leadership teams.
• Background in an upscale café, scratch-kitchen fast-casual concept, polished QSR, or higher-end coffee concept.
• Strong understanding of restaurant P&Ls, labor management, food cost, inventory, and COGS.
• Comfortable working directly with an owner in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and remain actively involved in restaurant operations.
• ServSafe Manager certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations across 3–4 café locations
• Work directly with ownership on operational priorities and business performance
• Coach, develop, and hold General Managers accountable
• Maintain a regular, hands-on presence within each restaurant
• Review P&Ls and manage labor, food cost, COGS, waste, and controllable expenses
• Ensure consistency in food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and service
• Strengthen operating procedures and performance standards
• Support hiring, training, retention, and leadership development
• Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
• Address operational challenges quickly and effectively
• Support continued organizational growth and future openings
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements

This is an opportunity for a hands‑on hospitality leader to work directly with ownership and play an important role in the continued development and growth of the organization.

The right candidate will be highly visible in the restaurants and comfortable working alongside managers and team members. You will be responsible for strengthening operational consistency, developing location leaders, improving financial performance, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience across every location.
