Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking an Assistant General Manager for Fort Drum, NY to lead dining operations in collaboration with the General Manager. You will oversee safety, sanitation, budgeting, scheduling, and guest satisfaction while driving quality, profitability, and service excellence for our military dining program.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years upscale food service experience, 1+ year multi-unit management, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five to seven years upscale food service experience, including one year multi-unit management.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills, flexible and adaptable to changes, with attention to detail.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP controls and proper storage and use of food.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Catering experience required; ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, hires, trains and coaches employees and managers.
• Participates in employee meetings and training programs.
• Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards.
• Manages purchasing and inventory controls.
• Is knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food.
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
