Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers in the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division seeks a Maintenance Worker for the Operations (Or Fleet) Division. The role covers carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and mechanical trades, including dam control tower facilities, buildings, and structures.

Candidate will operate and maintain hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, and machinery, with scope for installation, modification, and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Ability to perform maintenance work with supervision and operate heavy equipment as required.
• Competencies include physical effort, safety awareness, and ability to work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms.
• Compliance with pre-employment drug testing and background checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of maintenance tasks in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and mechanical trades.
• Maintain dam control tower facilities, buildings and structures.
• Operate, repair and maintain hydraulic systems and electrical equipment.
• Install and modify parts, components, or assemblies for various equipment and structures.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls and equipment; use hand and power tools.
