Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the operation and maintenance of public-use facilities, grounds, and related infrastructure. The role covers carpentry, water systems, electrical tasks, and routine repairs on a variety of equipment.

You will work with vehicles, boats, and power tools, performing inspections and hands-on maintenance to ensure safe, reliable facilities across outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Experience performing skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks across facilities and grounds.
• Ability to operate and maintain a range of project vehicles and small craft.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities, project grounds, parks, wildlife areas and other public use facilities.
• Install, modify and repair water supply systems, waterborne toilets, sewage systems, drinking fountains, hydrants, and irrigation systems.
• Construct wooden forms for concrete and carry out carpentry work.
• Operate project vehicles (trucks, vans, dump trucks, semi-trucks) to haul materials and perform maintenance.
• Operate small craft and diesel boats up to 26 feet to repair docks, transport materials and personnel.
• Perform general inspection, repair, and maintenance with hand and power tools.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair to motors, engines, belts, hoses, carburetors, and related parts.
