Job summary

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the United States is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to operate, maintain and repair floating plants and project facilities.

You will handle HVAC systems, power equipment, and in-house construction projects, while performing electrical, plumbing, masonry and painting tasks. The role requires CDL eligibility within 12 months, a valid state driver’s license, and potential TDY travel about 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Experience in general facility maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to operate mowers, tractors, pickup trucks and similar equipment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL within 12 months of employment.
• EPA universal certification required or obtain within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic with responsibility for operation, maintenance, repair and in-house construction to all floating plant and project facilities.
• Perform repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units and systems.
• Operate diesel, gasoline, or electric powered vehicles up to 30,000 pounds gross weight and carrying up to 10 tons.
• Service trucks, tractors, skid steer loader, ATVs, boats, standby generator, etc.
• Perform electrical, painting, masonry, plumbing and carpentry on a variety of equipment and facilities.
