Job summary

Lava Island is seeking Foremen to lead on-site construction for our growing park network in Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; and Grand Rapids, MI. You will work hands-on alongside the Superintendent, moving between drywall, painting, flooring, and finish work to hand over a finished park.

Expect multi-trade responsibilities, independent problem solving, and a culture of safety. This project-based role lasts four to six months with potential for future opportunities on other park builds.

Qualifications

• Multi-trade construction experience across drywall, paint, tile, flooring, trim and finish work.
• Prior foreman/lead carpenter or strong journeyman experience.
• Ability to work independently on the ground while staying in contact with the Superintendent.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification as required.
• Equipment certifications (scissor lift, forklift) or willingness to obtain them.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Background check required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the on-site presence with the Superintendent from empty space to finished park.
• Perform hands-on labor across drywall, paint, tile, flooring, framing, trim and finish work.
• Demolish existing space to prep for build.
• Prepare areas for specialty subs to keep workflow smooth.
• Coordinate with APS team during mural installation and playground setup.
• Monitor work and raise issues early; keep site on track.
• Protect completed work, keep site clean, and address punch lists.
• Model safe practices and enforce site safety.
