Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking an entry-level maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance tasks inside facilities, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work. You will operate standard tools and may supervise offender workers under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with one or more years of experience relevant/similar to the listed job functions, or completion of a relevant technical training program, or job certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as painting buildings and equipment, plaster patching, carpentry (furniture, doors, windows, shelving, floors).
• Handle plumbing issues (toilets, drains) and light electrical repairs; replace fixtures and light bulbs as needed.
• Operate tools and equipment, assist supervisor, and may oversee offender workers on related tasks.
