Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a General Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations, merchandising and financial performance. You will supervise multiple managers, direct staffing, training, and scheduling, and drive exceptional customer experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic merchandising execution, and a commitment to world-class service. You will manage budgets, assets, and store policies while promoting club membership and in-store services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in high-volume, big-box retail management; multi-store experience preferred.
• Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages.
• Ability to read/analyze reports and write business correspondence.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Experience with ERP/Inventory/POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises the Assistant Store Manager, HR Manager, LP Manager, and Promotions Manager.
• Opens and closes the store.
• Handles staffing, interviews, training, and performance appraisals; schedules and coaching.
• Ensures world-class customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Meets/exceeds financial plans; audits reports and controls assets/cash.
• Maintains merchandising directives and marketing strategies.
• Executes sales/payroll plans and keeps store compliant.
• Keeps environment safe, clean, and organized.
• Resolves customer and associate issues and manages escalations.
• Leads club membership promotion and in-store pickup programs; champions team concept.
• All other duties as assigned.
