Job summary

Carter Lumber seeks a General Manager to oversee operation of multiple stores within a single market in Charlotte, NC. You will implement guidance from Market leadership on foundation, inventory, sales and profit while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

The role requires strong leadership, proven retail management experience, and the ability to travel between sites as needed. You will monitor performance, develop staff, and drive sales growth across the market.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience is required.
• Experience with installed and outside sales programs is preferred.
• Proven track record in sales management, especially with contractors.
• Ability to train and lead a team effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and profitability.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the overall direction of multiple stores within a market.
