Job summary

CDM Service Group, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely multi-state payroll processing for the assigned pay group.

You will review transactions, maintain records, and respond to employee questions while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role partners with Shared Services, HR, Benefits, and Accounting to provide dependable payroll support and contribute to a positive employee experience.

Qualifications

• One year of payroll, payroll accounting, or related administrative experience required.
• Working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Experience supporting or processing multi-state payroll preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, including filtering, formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with PENTA or SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state weekly and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on schedule.
• Review deductions, garnishments, benefit deductions, and other withholdings.
• Review payroll vouchers and support documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain employee payroll data and process changes between HRIS and payroll systems.
• Process HSA and FSA payroll files and coordinate with Accounts Payable.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries via the Payroll Ticketing System.
• Handle employment and payroll verification requests and unemployment claims.
• Assist with payroll tax filings at federal, state, and local levels.
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validations.
• Assist with year-end tasks, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
