Job summary

freije Engineered Solutions Company is seeking a Payroll Operations Specialist to manage weekly payroll across multiple states, validate timekeeping, and handle special pay calculations. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules, including prevailing wage, while partnering with HR, Finance, and an external payroll provider.

You will maintain Paycor-based payroll systems and oversee deductions for benefits and 401(k), with a focus on accuracy, audit readiness, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance preferred.
• CPP certification preferred.
• 5+ years payroll administration experience.
• Experience with Paycor or similar HRIS platform.
• Experience administering multi-state payroll tax, withholding, and compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills: Pivot Tables, lookups, reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly payroll processing.
• Validate timekeeping and handle special pay calculations.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations including prevailing wage.
• Partner with HR, Finance, managers, and external payroll provider.
• Maintain Paycor payroll systems and workflows.
• Administer deductions for benefits and 401(k) and perform reconciliations and reporting.
