Job summary

Duncan-Parnell Inc. is seeking an HR & Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, NC to manage accurate, timely multi-state payroll using Paylocity. The role supports HR, Accounting, and department leaders to ensure compliant payroll processing and data integrity.

You will handle timekeeping reviews, tax withholdings, and payroll-related reconciliations, while maintaining strict confidentiality and quality standards. Strong Excel skills and 2+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of progressive payroll experience with multi-state payroll.
• Experience administering Paylocity or similar payroll/HRIS.
• Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location organization preferred.
• FPC, PHR, and/or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate multi-state payroll for biweekly and monthly cycles using Paylocity.
• Review timekeeping data, new hires, terminations, status changes, garnishments, and inputs before payroll runs.
• Calculate and process off-cycle payments, retroactive pay, bonuses, commissions, and final paychecks.
• Reconcile payroll registers, GL postings, and payroll-related accounts.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
