Job summary

Current HR is seeking a full-time Payroll Expert to coordinate daily payroll functions for clients, including processing payroll, submitting daily bank files, and assisting with timekeeping issues.

The role requires analytical, methodical, and organized professionals with experience in payroll administration and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations. This position is hybrid and based in Fort Wright, Kentucky, with onsite days Tuesday and Wednesday and remote work remaining days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of an associate degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of payroll experience preferred, with 1 year of direct experience handling multi-state payroll.
• Prior PEO or outsourced payroll experience strongly preferred.
• FPC or CPP designation preferred, or desire to obtain.
• Experience with MasterTax or Asure PTM strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with PrismHR strongly preferred.
• Must have competence in Microsoft Word and general computer usage.
• Must be a self-starter, organized, and willing to learn new skills.
• Able to be analytical and investigative with regards to payroll issues.
• Must adhere to confidentiality policy.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for clients including maintenance of garnishments, benefit contributions, payroll taxes, and other deductions.
• Assist clients with processing payroll changes (new hires, terminations, raises).
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry for payroll records.
• Stay updated on federal, state, local regulations via self-study and webinars.
• Assist with processing monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and filings.
• Assist with processing payroll tax deposits.
• Prepare reports for employee benefit vendors.
• Coordinate payroll discrepancy resolutions with clients and Payroll Director.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service via phone or email regarding pay questions.
• Assist clients with payroll processing issues and communication of payroll information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
