Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Associate Account Manager to oversee multi-state payroll processing for a portfolio of clients across the United States. You will ensure timely, compliant payroll operations and serve as the primary contact for client payroll inquiries and issues.

The role requires strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, with experience using ADP, Paychex, or Gusto. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience, multi-state preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary payroll contact for a portfolio of assigned clients.
• Process payroll actions: status changes, separations, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits.
• Manage State and Local Withholding IDs and update rates per regulation changes.
• Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on schedule for wages, overtime, bonuses, tips, etc.
• Review, verify, and reconcile payroll data per guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Provide clear, timely responses to client inquiries on payroll, policies, and benefits.
• Handle payroll across multiple states with varying jurisdiction requirements.
