Job summary

Harter Secrest & Emery LLP is seeking a Payroll Administrator in Rochester, NY to manage multi-state payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and HRIS-related tasks. You will work with Finance and HR teams to ensure accurate biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls and provide excellent support to attorneys and staff.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Finance or Accounting and 5–7 years of payroll experience, including multi-state tax setups and adept use of ADP and Excel.

Qualifications

• BS in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline with 5–7 years of payroll experience.
• Experience administering payroll in multi-state jurisdictions and US taxes.
• Confidential handling of payroll data and strong compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer multi-state payroll processing and employee setup with tax withholding and regulations.
• Process deductions, benefits changes, and payroll data for varied pay cycles.
• Liaise with payroll vendors and internal partners to ensure configuration and compliance.
• Generate payroll reports, respond to auditors, and support HRIS management.
