Job summary

Hilltop Residential in Houston, TX is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. You will administer benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and leave programs across five states, supporting employees and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years in benefits administration and/or HR
• Experience with open enrollment and leave administration strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Administer benefits enrollment for new hires and changes across Hilltop markets
• Support annual open enrollment with communications, processing, and auditing
• Serve as liaison between employees and carriers for benefits and leave questions
• Reconcile monthly benefits billing and flag discrepancies
• Assist with 401(k) enrollment, vendor liaison, and contributions
• Manage Hilltop Strive tuition reimbursement program including eligibility review and payroll coordination
• Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA: Texas, GA, NC, FL, TN)
• Support PTO policy administration and respond to questions
• Assist with ADA accommodations and interactive processes
• Assist with workers' compensation tracking and follow-up
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local benefits and leave laws
• Respond to employee inquiries and update HRIS records
• Coordinate employee lease addendums with Employee Rent Discount Program
• Assist with employee recognition programs and annual awards
• Provide administrative support to HR and Recruiting teams
