Job summary

Montgomery County, PA is seeking a Maintenance Support Worker to handle scheduled and unscheduled upkeep in an institutional setting. Responsibilities include carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and locksmith tasks, with on‑call emergency availability.

The role also supports janitorial duties, classroom cleaning, snow removal, and light landscaping, plus heavy lifting as required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with trade schooling preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade schooling, certifications preferred or comparable combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Exhibits the appropriate level of decision‑making, planning and communicative skills.
• A minimum of (1) year prior experience in a trade or skilled labor position with emphasis on carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical skills is beneficial.
• Must have a good general knowledge of industrial cleaning procedures and ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as carpet extractor, floor buffer, vacuum cleaner, snow blower, lawn equipment, etc.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and on‑demand maintenance tasks including carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Operate a wide variety of industrial and commercial equipment.
• Assist in cleaning classrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Snow removal and light landscaping duties; remove trash and debris from grounds.
• On‑call availability for building emergencies and to assist staff as needed.
