Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Multi-Skilled Equipment Operator to safely operate loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other quarry equipment to support production goals. The role emphasizes strict safety practices, pre-/post-trip checks, and collaboration with maintenance teams in a crushed stone and sand/gravel quarry setting.

Ideal candidates have and up to 2 years of experience with heavy equipment, plus familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade school diploma or certificate in equipment operation highly desired.
• Less than 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of equipment (front end loaders; excavators; haul trucks; dozers; graders).
• Maintain precise control of each piece of equipment, adapting to terrain and weather.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Load and unload materials, including raw materials, finished products, and waste.
• Excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials to support quarry operations.
• Maintain haul roads and work areas for safe traffic flow.
• Assist in quarry tasks such as stockpile management and plant feeding.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance checks; collaborate with maintenance teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
