Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Multi-Skilled Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in a quarry setting. You will run loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other equipment to support production goals.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (trade schooling preferred) and up to 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment with strong safety discipline and MSHA knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade school diploma or certificate in equipment operation highly desired.
• Less than 2 years experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of equipment (front end loaders; excavators; haul trucks; dozers; graders).
• Maintain precise control of each piece of equipment, adapting to varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of all equipment operated, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Load and unload materials, including raw materials, finished products, and waste materials.
• Excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials as needed to support quarry operations.
• Maintain haul roads and work areas, ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Assist in various quarry tasks, such as stockpile management, plant feeding, and general site maintenance.
• Perform basic maintenance checks on all equipment operated.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
