Job summary

Our client, a global leader in the food manufacturing industry, seeks a Technical Safety Manager to lead multi-site safety initiatives in the western Chicago suburbs (relocation assistance available). You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure safe design, installation, and commissioning of new lines and equipment in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

8+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading multi-site safety programs, capital projects, automation, and machine safety.
Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations, NFPA requirements, and ISO safety standards.

Responsibilities

Lead safety integration for capital projects, equipment installations, automation, and process changes.
Ensure new and existing equipment complies with OSHA, ISO safety of machinery, NFPA, and corporate safety standards.
Conduct safe design reviews, hazard analyses, risk assessments, startup readiness reviews, and commissioning verification.
Develop and standardize machine safety requirements, LOTO programs, machine guarding, and engineering controls.
Review engineering drawings, vendor specifications, and commissioning plans to ensure safety is built into every project.
