Job summary

Major Recruitment is hiring a Safety Manager based in Wisconsin to lead and direct site safety programs. This role involves developing safety policies, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

The Safety Manager will also oversee safety audits, collaborate with management, and manage Workers’ Compensation cases. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and have food manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field is required.
• A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
• Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of First Aid, Confined Space Entry, LOTO, and Process Safety Management is beneficial.
• ASP or CSP certification preferred.
• Solid knowledge of State and Federal safety and risk regulations is essential.

Major Talent is partnered with a global cooperative that has facilities throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. We are looking to speak with candidates for a Safety Manager opening based in Wisconsin.

As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for directing and leading all site safety programs including but not limited to new employee safety orientation, safety training, written program creation and maintenance, assisting with programs such as Workers’ Compensation, and Process Safety Management.

Responsibilities of a Safety Manager

• Develop, update, and administer safety programs, policies, and written procedures.
• Ensure facility compliance with OSHA and all federal, state, local, and internal safety standards.
• Maintain understanding of safety regulations and ensure company practices meet or exceed requirements.
• Lead safety training, coaching and maintain the new/transfer employee safety orientation program.
• Oversee and audit safety training and monthly plant audits; develop key safety metrics for performance improvement.
• Partner with management and employees to identify training needs based on changes in procedures, regulations, or technologies.
• Translate organizational safety objectives into actionable initiatives.
• Lead and develop the Safety Committee in collaboration with Plant Managers and plant employees.
• Work with Workers’ Compensation insurance consultants on loss‑prevention initiatives.
• Support employees with injury/accident claims and manage the claims process.
• Collaborate with HR and Site Managers to coordinate safe and timely return‑to‑work plans.
• Lead resolution of Workers’ Compensation cases with focus on cost control and effective case management.
• When applicable, manage employees including work direction, training, evaluations, policy administration, discipline, and compensation recommendations.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Food manufacturing experience
