Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating seeks a Safety Manager to lead incident-free field operations across MEI sites and promote a strong safety culture. You will implement MEI EHS policies, manage regulatory training, and oversee incident investigations with IRB and site teams.

The role requires coordinating OSHA compliance, risk assessments, JSA/JHA development, and incident prevention programs while collaborating with occupational health and insurance providers to close claims efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years Environmental Health & Safety experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years EHS experience at a multi-site organization.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with OSHA standards.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Proactively executes and maintains all MEI EHS policies and training.
• Supports training (Site Specific, Protocol, OSHA, Forklift, etc.).
• Provides program support in design-in-safety, risk assessment, JHA, and EHS systems.
• Manage incident investigations with IRB and Site management.
• Oversee SIPPS, hot-work permits, confined space, SDS, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct routine site audits of equipment, materials, practices, and procedures.
• Develop safety work instructions and job hazard analyses (JHA).
• Approve daily Pre-task plans and JHAs.
• Evaluate environment, equipment, and processes for regulatory compliance.
• Follow OJI protocol; manage injury claims lifecycle with workers' comp.
• Prepare administrative records, attend EHS meetings, and complete audits.
• Address safety violations promptly and document actions.
• Provide ongoing safety training and required certifications for staff.
