Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and restore restaurant equipment across HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen systems. The role supports multiple Jacksonville-area locations with on-site visits and occasional travel, requiring strong communication with leadership and vendors.

Base pay is $38/hr with a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, holidays, parental leave, and a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• HVAC and refrigeration experience required.
• Proven ability to repair commercial kitchen equipment.
• EPA or CFC certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong safety and OSHA awareness.
• Ability to read work orders and follow SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and beverage systems.
• Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance to restore operations.
• Document repairs and prioritize work orders per SLAs.
• Perform interior and exterior restaurant repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Manage parts inventory and use company systems and mobile tools.
• Coordinate with leadership, vendors, and restaurant teams on status.
