Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to keep our Austin-area restaurants safe and reliable by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen systems.

You will handle work orders, coordinate with leadership, and travel across the region to support restaurant operations, with on-call rotation and a focus on high-quality, compliant service that protects guests and assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Willing to travel locally and long distances, including air travel.
• 1+ year of field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
• EPA or CFC Certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, and refrigeration.
• Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance to restore functionality.
• Manage work orders, service documentation, and parts inventory.
• Communicate with restaurant leadership, maintenance team, and vendors.
• Travel to support multiple restaurants across the region.
