Job summary

Brookfield Properties in Washington, DC, is seeking an Area Manager to oversee several apartment communities and mixed-use assets. You will lead a team of property managers, drive asset performance, and ensure financial and operational excellence while maintaining top-tier resident service.

The role requires 8–10 years of supervisory property management, 3–4 years multi-site experience preferred, and a Bachelor’s degree in Property Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Property Management required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of general supervisory and property management experience required.
• 3–4 years of multi-site management experience preferred.
• 10+ years of relative work experience could offset minimum educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple sites with property managers; drive asset performance and ensure highest levels of service.
• Lead the annual operating budget process and financial oversight for supported properties.
• Develop and implement marketing plans to maximize occupancy and manage advertising.
• Approve residency applications, collect rents and manage move-in/out processes.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and housing quality standards across properties.
• Meet with prospective residents to assess needs, show units, and qualify applicants.
• Travel up to 25% to support regional operations and asset management.
