Job summary

QSAC, a nonprofit serving children and adults with autism in New York, seeks an Recruiter to support the HR Recruitment Team, posting, screening, processing background checks, and tracking hires in a fast-paced environment.

Role requires willingness to travel to all NY regions and colleges, strong organization, and attention to detail; background checks and applicant tracking systems experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years HR experience preferred.
• Familiar with MS Office and Google Apps.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to QSAC sites and job fairs.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Punctuality and regular attendance expected.
• Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.

Responsibilities

• Complete and follow up on background checks (e.g., SEL, SCR, MHL, JCC, etc.).
• Familiar with Applicant Tracking Systems.
• Assist with biweekly new hire orientation; set-up and preparation.
• Conduct employee reference checks.
• Submit SCR check requests weekly.
• Prepare for internal interview days; screening, scheduling and follow-up.
• Audit new hire packets and request missing documentation/information from Hiring Managers and/or applicants.
• Attend internal Job Fairs and external College Career Days.
• Conduct, identify, screen candidates and present qualified applicants to hiring managers.
• Monitor onboarding process with HR team, hiring manager, and candidate.
• Navigate in UKG ATS and assist with screening, forwarding, hiring and dispositioning candidates.
