Job summary

BlackRock Communities near Tacoma is seeking a pragmatic property associate to manage a scattered-site portfolio. You’ll walk properties, meet residents, coordinate maintenance, and support leasing and renewals across the portfolio.

Based at one Tacoma property, you’ll travel between sites, handle inspections, rent collections, and resident communications with calm professionalism. Hospitality/service background is valued; Washington license required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a customer-facing role with real responsibility.
• Valid Washington driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance (mileage reimbursed).
• Residence in or near Tacoma and ability to pass a background check.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Walk properties and complete unit, common area, and exterior inspections.
• Meet residents face to face: welcome checks, routine check-ins, and follow-up when something isn't right.
• Follow up on maintenance requests and coordinate with our maintenance team to see work through.
• Post notices and handle resident communication with professionalism and a level head.
• Work rent collections — conversations, follow-up, and payment arrangements, handled with both firmness and respect.
• Support leasing: show apartments, follow up on inquiries, and help close when our leasing agent needs backup.
• Own renewal conversations — reaching out early, building relationships, and encouraging strong resident retention.
