Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Pre-Surgical Clearance Coordinator in Phoenix to support orthopedic services. You will manage pre-operative clearances, communicate with patients and clinics, and maintain accurate EMR records to ensure timely procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required or maintained.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage 30+ flags daily from the surgery scheduler in EMR.
• Contact patients to confirm test completion and request documents (clearance letters, labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Monitor the clearance fax folder for incoming documents.
• Handle up to 10 calls per patient or office; leave messages and follow up as needed.
• Coordinate with patient support team regarding clearance delays.
• Update patient charts and trackers as clearances are received; follow up if not received by the pre-op date.
• Progress through task lists to ensure timely completion.
