OrthoArizona is seeking a Pre-Surgical Clearance Coordinator in Phoenix, AZ. You will coordinate clearances for surgeries, contact patients for tests, and request essential documents from PCPs and specialists to ensure timely clearance.

The role involves frequent patient and clinician communication, EMR data entry, and coordinating across multiple sites to maintain accurate tracking and readiness for the pre-op date.

Qualifications

• Understand and perform training on EMR software and updates.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage 30+ flags daily from the surgery scheduler in EMR.
• Complete clearances timely by contacting patients and offices for documents.
• Monitor the clearance fax folder for incoming documents.
• Manage calls, up to 10 per patient, and handle lengthy hold times.
• Communicate delays in clearances with the patient support team.
• Update charts and trackers as clearances are received and follow up as needed.
• Progress through the task list to ensure all responsibilities are met efficiently.

As a Pre-Surgical Clearance Coordinator with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Receive and manage 30+ flags daily from the surgery scheduler in EMR
• Complete clearances timely by contacting patients to confirm completion of requested tests, PCP/specialists offices to request faxed documents, including clearance letters, labs, chest X-rays, and EKGs to be faxed.
• Regularly monitor the clearance fax folder for incoming documents.
• Manage frequent calls, which may include up to 10 calls per patient or specialist office. Leave messages for clinics, follow up on calls, and handle situations where hold times are lengthy
• Communicate with various members of the patient support team on any delays in clearances
• Update patient charts and tracker as clearances are received, follow up with offices if clearances are not received by the pre-op date.
• Continuously manage and progress through the task list to ensure all responsibilities are met efficiently.

• Continue to expand knowledge of electronic medical record software as updates occur.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CPR certification.
