Feed Energy seeks a Head of Plant Operations to lead four manufacturing locations, driving safety, quality, cost, and uptime. This hands-on role reports to the COO and travels up to 60%.

You will develop plant leaders, establish standard operating procedures, and partner with Finance, Engineering, and Quality to deliver consistent performance across sites. This leadership position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunity to shape a sustainable manufacturing future.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading multi-site operations (3+ facilities).
• Experience implementing operating systems across locations.
• Experience managing operating expenses and delivering cost performance within budget.
• Coaching and developing plant leaders and frontline teams.
• Servant leadership mindset with clear expectations and accountability.
• Willingness to spend substantial time in facilities and solve problems on the floor.
• Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to partner across operational, technical, financial, and people functions.
• Travel up to 60%.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational execution across four locations.
• Own plant performance targets: throughput, yield, uptime, labor efficiency, cost per unit, and total operating cost.
• Establish regular routines, KPI reporting, and escalation processes.
• Maintain visible presence on plant floors and coach leaders.
• Manage Plant Managers and Senior Operations Support Manager, setting expectations.
• Develop managers and frontline leaders through coaching and hands-on support.
• Control operating expenses within the approved budget; coordinate with Finance on forecasts.
• Lead safety and environmental program execution with EH&S team.
• Ensure product quality in partnership with Quality; reduce defects and holds.
• Build and enforce SOPs across all locations; eliminate process differences.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma and root-cause analysis daily.
• Coordinate priorities with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Culture & Talent.
• Model servant leadership and foster a culture of safety, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
