Job summary

MJ Recruiters, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for contract work with potential for permanent placement. The role involves performing blood draws across multiple sites in Northwest Indiana, handling specimen processing, and ensuring specimen integrity.

Expect 7am–8pm, Monday–Friday, with mileage reimbursement and a clean driving record required. A minimum of 3 years of related experience is stated for some openings.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a clear, courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
