Job summary

Management Performance Associates seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Merrillville, IN, with potential for permanent status. The position requires a phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in fast-paced labs or hospitals.

Mileage expenses are paid and a reliable vehicle is required for travel to multiple sites. The main duties include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, ensuring proper storage, and complying with OSHA/DEP

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures and ensure integrity.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique with needles.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures and protocols.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
